Day To Day Itinerary

DAY 01: Arrive at hotel in Kathmandu (overnight in hotel).

You may have free time during the day depending on what time you arrive. A briefing will be given by our trekking leader in the late afternoon. He will discuss our trekking program in detail. The evening is free, but usually our tour leader will ask if the travellers want to have a group dinner (optional and at the traveller's own expense) at one of Kathmandu’s fine Nepali restaurants.

DAY 02: Free day for sightseeing and shopping in Kathmandu. Overnight in hotel.

DAY 03: Transfer to Pokhara (827 m/2,713 ft). Evening stroll around Lake Side, Pokhara. Overnight in hotel.

DAY 04: Drive to Nayapool (1070m/3510ft) and Trek to Ghandruk (1940m/6365ft). Overnight in Lodge. Total Driving Time 1.5 - 2 hrs; Total Walking Time 6 - 7 hrs; Total Ascent 900m.

Early in the morning, we have our breakfast and drive to Nayapul. This drive will give us the first impression of Mount Fishtail with its split peak, just like a fishtail. Here the same mountain looks differently than how it looked like in Pokhara.

We start our trek from Nayapool walking along Modi river for some time. At Birethati, we cross a river and walk along the terraced fields beneath the splendid panorama of awe-inspiring glaciated Himalayan mountain ranges. After a while we start trekking steep uphill for about 5-6 hrs to reach Ghandruk. This is a picturesque town of slate-roofed Gurung people and is the headquarter of Annupurna Conservation Area. Gurungs are one of many ethnic people of Nepal who are traditionally Buddhist and have been serving in British Army.

DAY 05: Trek to Tadapani (2630m/8629ft). Total Walking Time 3-4 hrs; Total Ascent 400m.

We climb gentally through dense forests full of rhododendron, oak and other kinds of trees. You could hear different kinds of birds chirping on the way. The area is popular for bird watching. The trail goes up and down and a final ascend to get to Tadapani, a small village surrounded by beautiful forests and full of magnificent view of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail, and Annapurna II and so on.

DAY 06: Trek to Ghorepani (2860m/9383ft). Total Walking Time 6 hrs; Total Ascent 230m.

Trek from Tadapani to Ghorepani involves a number of ups and downs. We pass through the villages of Banthanti and Deorali before reaching Ghorepani. From here, we can see the spectacular panorama of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Tukuche Nilgiri (6940m), Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and Tarke Kang (7193m).

DAY 07: Trek to Poon Hill (3193m/10476ft) for Himalayan sunrise. Trek onwards to Tirkhedhunga (1540m/5052ft). Total Walking Time 7 hrs; Total Ascent 340m; Total Descent 1400m.

We wake up early morning to hike up to the famed vantage point of Poon Hill.  It takes about 45 minutes to reach the ridge of Poon Hill (3,195 m). As the sun rises, the view becomes breathtaking: a wide Himalayan panorama stretching from Dhaulagiri (8,167m)-the world's seventh highest peak to Manaslu 8,156m, the world's eighth highest peak in the east, with the mighty Annapurna range in between them. The range includes Tukuche Peak (6920m), Nilgiri (6940m), Baraha Shikhar (7847m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Annapurna III (7855m), Machhapuchhare (6993m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna II (7937m), Lamjung Himal (6931m)

After the sunrise view, we return to the lodge for breakfast and begin to walk down to Ulleri. From here, we start descending 3000 steps to Tirkedhunga. Would you take it easy please!

DAY 08: Trek to Nayapool (1070m/3510ft) and drive back to Pokhara (827 m/2,713 ft). Total Driving Time 1.5 hrs; Total Walking Time 2 - 3 hrs; Total Descent 700m.

The trail descends from Tirkedhunga to the village of Birethanti. We cross the Modi Khola on a suspension bridge then follow the river valley to the road ahead towards Nayapul. Our trek ends here. We take a short drive on our private vehicle back to Pokhara.

DAY 09: Transfer back to Kathmandu.

DAY 10: Free day in Kathmandu for sightseeing and shopping.

DAY 11: Final Departure.
