Day To Day Itinerary

DAY 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel (overnight in hotel).

You may have free time during the day depending on what time you arrive. A briefing will be given by our trekking leader in the late afternoon. He will discuss our trekking program in detail. In the evening, you will be welcomed to Nepal with a dinner at one of Kathmandu’s fine Nepali restaurants.

DAY 02: After breakfast, we go on sightseeing tour of several UNESCO listed cultural heritage sites of Kathmandu city.

We walk through the narrow streets of old bazaar to see historic sites, with its old temples and palaces which epitomizes the religious and cultural life of the people.

Activities: Full day Sightseeing.

Places to visit:

ancient Kathmandu city; residence of Living Goddess Kumari; Hanuman  Dhoka, the historic seat of royalty; Kasthamandap: said to have been built in the sixteenth century and from the wood of a single tree.; Hindu temples and Buddhist monuments and carvings of Patan City; Krishna Mandir, built in the seventeenth century, and is completely made of stone.

DAY 03: A Mountain flight in the morning to EVEREST region. Transfer to Nagarkot (overnight in hotel).

The mountain flight is in early morning. After return, we drive to a popular touristic hill station 32 km away from Kathmandu. This hill station offers magnificent panorama of the major peaks of the eastern Nepal Himalayas including Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest). This place is also famous for wonderful sunrise and sunset views. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at the Hotel.

Activities: exploring the hill station and viewing sunset over the Himalaya.

DAY 04: Observe sunrise over the Himalayas in the morning. Fly to POKHARA.

Early dawn alert for a magnificent sunrise view from the terrace at the resortto watch the change of colors on mountains from golden to silvery white at sunrise. After breakfast, we drive to the domestic airport for a flight to Pokhara. Pokhara city is a vacationer's paradise with its clear lakes and fantastic views of the Annapurna range including the magnificent 8000-m. peaks and Mount Fish Tail. Afternoon and evening arefree for extra individual activities. Overnight at the Hotel.

DAY 05: Fly to JOMSOM (2720m) and trek to KAGBENI (2800m). Total walking time 3 hours.

After the breakfast, we proceed to Pokhara airport for a flight to Jomsom which is almost in the turning point of the Annapurna Circuit. Jomsom is the place that sees most of the visitors in the Annapurna Region, both on foot and by flight. In and around Jomsom, there are many cultural sights to explore. Annapurna Region has around 120,000 human populations from 10 ethnic caste groups.

After brief rest, we start the trek to Kagbeni which is a gateway to Upper Mustang.

The trek starts  slowly and gradually acclimatizing with the surroundings. The Thakalies are the dominant tribe of the valley, related to the Gurung and Magars of the southern slopes. Upon arrival at Kagbeni, we are met by our Sherpa team ready with the lunch at the campsite and arrangements of our tents for the overnight camp. After lunch, rest of the day is free to explore the nearby villages and its culture. Overnight at the Campsite.

DAY 06: Trek to MUKTINATH (3802m). Total walking time 6-7 hours.

After breakfast, we trek slowly up to Muktinath. After lunch,  we get time to rest and take it easy for acclimatization. The day’s trek is easy as one starts by going uphill and then the route is more or less flat.

We take time while walking to enjoy the scenery around us. Muktinath is place of 108 fountains, with the sacred temples of Muktinath just below Thorung La in a grove of trees. Every tree is laden with prayer flags, and here you could build your won chorten. Here in the early 19th century the Hindus consecrated a Vishnu temple and named it Muktinath – Lord of Liberation. Against a backdrop of incredible starkness you can sit and stare to the snow covered range of Himalayas that includes Mount Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri Himal, Damador Himal Range and other Annapurna ranges or the Tibetan plateau to the north. Dinner and Overnight at Muktinath Campsite.

DAY 07: Backtrack to JOMSOM.

After enjoying the views in the morning while having the early breakfast, we trek back to Jomsom. En route we stop and have lunch at Kagbeni and trek back to check into Jomsom Mountain Resort for much deserved hot shower and rest. This evening, our Sherpa team will host a farewell dinner with merriment of dancing and singing. Overnight at Jomsom Mountain Resort.

DAY 08: Fly back to POKHARA.

After an early breakfast, we are escorted to Jomsom airport on a tractor trail, the only means of transport available besides the pony ride.

Afternoon is free for extra individual activities. The tour leader can arrange for golf or city sightseeing upon request. As an option in the evening: you may enjoy Cultural Dance and Dinner at the courtyard of the Hotel.

DAY 09: Drive to CHITWAN for 2 nights/3 days Jungle Safari.

After a hearty breakfast, we drive to Royal Chitwan National Park for about 5 hours. The park is home to greater one horned rhinoceros, sloth bear, wild boar, gaur (bison), 4 types of deer, 2 types of monkeys, 2 types of crocodiles, leopards, the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger and over 400 species of birds and various reptiles and other smaller mammals.

We are met by our naturalist and transferred by jeep, river boats, elephants or land-rovers to the Temple Tiger Jungle Lodge. Welcomed at Amaltarighat (River crossing point) by welcome drink, cold towels and welcome tika .

In the late afternoon, we enjoy jungle safari on elephant back. In the evening, a hearty meal of continental or Nepalese cuisine is served around the campfire. Overnight at the Resort.

DAY 10: CHITWAN safari activities.

Early morning, after tea or coffee we set for an elephant ride or a jungle walk to view the wildlife in their early repose for 2-3 hrs. and return to the camp.

After breakfast, we visit elephant stables to get a firsthand knowledge on elephants from senior naturalists. Here we can witness the rare scene of elephants at bath.

In the late afternoon, there is a choice to participate in the programs offered at the camp, which includes jungle drives in Land Rovers visiting different lakes inside the National Park, Canoe rides/ floats or an escorted Nature walk and bird watching excursion. Overnight at the Resort.

DAY 11: Fly back to KATHMANDU.

Bidding farewell to the lovely experiences of jungle lodge at Chitwan, we proceed to Bharatpur Airport to fly back to Kathmandu.

Afternoon is free for shopping and individual activities. We get together at the evening for a farewell dinner.

DAY 12: Free till departure from KATHMANDU.

What is Included

Summary of accommodation, transportation, meals and equipments

Transport

Airport pick off, drop off and all mentioned land transfers are in Private Vehicle.

Accomodation

Accommodation in Kathmandu is at a centrally located 5-star hotel. Accommodation in Nagarkot is at a 5 star resort. Accommodations in Pokhara and Chitwan are at a nice hotel. Accommodation on trek is provided in nice resorts/lodges available in the area including one night stay in comfortable tent.

 

All accommodations are on twin share basis.

Meals

Breakfasts are included during the hotel stay in Kathmandu, Nagarkot, Pokhara and Chitwan, and three meals a day are included for the duration of the trek.

Equipment

During camping trek, following items are provided:

Spacious Mountain Hardware Tent with foam mattresses, sleeping bags with liners, a separate dinning tent, toilet tent and a fully equipped kitchen tent with all the necessary utensils.

Complimentary

One welcome dinner and one farewell dinner.

Not Included

International flights, airport departure taxes, visas, insurance, meals not listed, any optional tours and activities during free time, camera fees, excess baggage charges, personal medical supplies, personal trekking equipment, drinking water supplies on the trek, hot water supplies on the trek, showers on the trek (if available), bar bills, laundry charges, tips or gratuities and items of a personal nature are not covered by us.

 

Any extra costs incurred due to unforeseen events or circumstances beyond the control of our agents or representatives, such as 'Nepal bandh' (strikes and closures), natural calamities, flight delays and flight cancellations, will not be covered.
