This popular short and low-altitude trek in the famous Annapurna region offers magnificent views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, which together boast three of the world’s eight thousand metre-high mountains, along with a unique insight into diverse Himalayan cultures.

 

The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek offers what is commonly known as ‘Annapurna balcony trekking’, meaning that the route is fit for all trekkers and adventure seekers. This trail leads to the west of Pokhara, offering superb views of the entire Annapurna trekking region. Trekking in the area offers dazzling mountain scenery punctuated by the one and only Machapuchare (‘Mt Fishtail’), thick rhododendron forests teeming with birds, deep sub-tropical valleys and charming alpine villages inhabited by the Gurung and Magar peoples.

Detailed Itinerary

Inclusion Summary

  • All land transfers, including airport pickups and drop-offs, are provided in a private vehicle;
  • Tourist bus fares to and from Pokhara are covered by us;
  • The national park entrance fee and Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) card fee are covered by us;
  • An English-speaking trekking leader is provided along with a full complement of crew (including Sherpa and porters) suited to the size of the group;
  • A first aid kit is carried by the crew at all times;
  • All crew members are fully insured.

Accomodation

Accommodation in Kathmandu will be in a 3* hotel. Accommodation in Pokhara will be in comfortable hotel. Accommodation during trek will be in comfortable lodges, locally called 'Teahouses'.

Meals

Breakfasts included at the hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Meals on trek are not included in this value package. You have the flexibility to choose food according to your taste and budget on trek.

Transportation

Transportation to and from Pokhara are in tourist bus service. All mentioned land transfers are in private vehicle.

Equipment

Any items necessary for the trip, including personal items such as toiletries, need to be provided by you. A recommended list of items will be included in the trip note which will be provided at the time of booking.
