Kathmandu Valley Rim - Fun Ride - 5 Days

This exhilarating introductory level cycling tour along the Kathmandu Valley Rim at an altitude above 1,350 metres is an experience like no other. From the ridge-top trails that encircle the Kathmandu Valley, amazing vistas can be observed as one cycles against a spectacular alpine backdrop of Himalayan mountain peaks.

We leave Kathmandu after breakfast through the bustling back streets of Thamel and on to good wide undulating jeep tracks into jungle. Our efforts are rewarded by spectacular mountain views. We travel downhill and then on upwards for the seriously fit ride (22km) up to Kakani. We camp in a reserve at 2,000m to enjoy  the stunning views of mount Ganesh and Langtang, and the valley of Likhu Khola (river) 1,000m below.

Tour Highlight

  • stunning Himalayan views during a thrilling ride along mountain biking terrain encircling the Kathmandu Valley;

  • exposure to rarely frequented pockets of Nepalese culture and the unforgettable warmth of local villagers.
