Permit for tents at the basecamp is provided for only mountaineering expeditions. We are opening up availabilities to spend a night in these tents set up for the mountaineers when they are up in the mountain. The season is only between Mar and May in 2019 and we have only a window opportunity when the tents are available.

Spending a night at the basecamp

You will have an amazing experience of spending overnight at the basecamp in a tent setup for the Everest climbers. At this time, they will be somewhere up in the mountain and you will take their place for a night in the tent. At certain times, the climbers will return to the camp and you may be lucky to get opportunities to chat with them.

Spending a night at the basecamp also gives you an opportunity to experience the sun rise and sun set over the Khumbu glacier and the surrounding area, subject to weather condition.

Day 01
Arrive at hotel (overnight in hotel).
Day 02
Kathmandu free day. Tour guide will review your gear and assist in hiring/purchasing if required.
Day 03
Early morning drive to airport and flight to Lukla. Flight duration 30 min; Altitude (2840m/9318ft); Trek to Phakding; Duration 3 hrs; Altitude (2610m/8563ft); Distance 8km; Total Ascent 120m; Total Descent 250m.
Day 04
Trek Namche Bazaar (3440m/11286ft). Total Walking Time 5-6 hrs; Distance 15km; Total Ascent 1150m; Total Descent 100m.
Day 05
Rest in Namchey (3440m/11286ft) for acclimatisation. Plenty of things to see or options of day hiking in the area.
Day 06
Trek to Debuche; 5.5 hrs; (3750m/12300ft)
Day 07
Trek to Dingboche; (4410m/14469ft); Total Walking Time 5-6 hrs; Distance 13km; Total Ascent 650m; Total Descent 150m.
Day 08
Rest in Dingboche for acclimatisation. Local sightseeing and options of day hiking in the area.
Day 09
Trek from Dingboche (4410m/14469ft) to Lobuche (4910m/16109ft). Total Walking Time 5-6 hrs; Distance 9 km; Total Ascent 650m; Total Descent
Day 10
Trek to Gorakshep (5140m/16864ft) then onwards to Everest Base Camp (5364m/17598ft). We will walk around the basecamp and later sleep overnight in a tent at the basecamp for an amazing experience. Total Walking Time 8 hrs; Total Ascent 580m; Total Descent 250m.
Day 11
After another amazing experience of having breakfast at the basecamp, you will soak up the environment at the basecamp one more time and start walking towards Kalapathar (5550m/18209ft), a vantage point for suberb view of the mountain range and trek back to Pheriche (4240m/13910ft). Total Walking Time 6-7 hrs; Total Ascent 620m; Total Descent 1450m.
Day 12
Trek down to Namche Bazaar.
Day 13
Trek down to Lukla.
Day 14
Early morning flight back to Kathmandu.
Day 15
Final departure.

Detailed Itinerary

Inclusion Summary

  • All land transfers, including airport pickups and drop-offs, are provided in a private vehicle;
  • Domestic airfares to and from Lukla along with relevant airport taxes are covered by us;
  • The national park entrance fee, Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) card fee and sightseeing entrance fee in Kathmandu are covered by us;
  • An English-speaking trekking leader is provided along with a full complement of crew (including Sherpa and porters) suited to the size of the group;
  • A first aid kit is carried by the crew at all times;
  • All crew members are fully insured;
  • Airfares, food, accommodation and equipment as required for the crew are provided by us.

Rest of the inclusions e.g. meals on trek, Kathmandu city seightseeing tour etc will depend upon package option you choose among Standard, Deluxe or VIP package you choose. Please enquire to receive details. 

Accomodation

Accommodation is dependant upon Standard, Deluxe or VIP package you choose.

Meals

Breakfasts are included during the hotel stay in Kathmandu. Meals on trek are included or excluded depending on Standard, Deluxe or VIP package you choose.

Transportation

A private vehicle is provided for all relevant land transfers. Domestic flights to and from Lukla are covered by us.

Equipment

A sleeping bag and an inner sleeping sheet are provided upon request at the time of booking. However, it is advisable that you bring your own sleeping bag and inner sleeping sheet if possible, simply due to the feeling of comfort and warmth you get from your own personal items.

Any other items necessary for the trip, including personal items such as toiletries, need to be provided by you. A recommended list of items will be included in the trip note which will be provided at the time of booking.

Exclusion Summary

International flights, airport departure taxes, visas, insurance, meals not listed, any optional tours and activities during free time, camera fees, excess baggage charges, personal medical supplies, personal trekking equipment, drinking water supplies on the trek, hot water supplies on the trek, showers on the trek (if available), bar bills, laundry charges, tips or gratuities and items of a personal nature are not covered by us.

 

Any extra costs incurred due to unforeseen events or circumstances beyond the control of our agents or representatives, such as 'Nepal bandh' (strikes and closures), natural calamities, flight delays and flight cancellations, will not be covered.
